Battle Creek 4th of July Fire Show

Capturing live pyrotechnics and large-scale fire events requires split-second timing and a masterful command of dynamic range. This series documents the massive fire show at the Battle Creek 4th of July Festival. By carefully balancing the exposure for the extreme, sudden brightness of the flames, I was able to retain the intricate textures of the explosion while plunging the foreground into deep shadow. The resulting silhouettes provide a dramatic sense of scale, translating the raw power and intense heat of the event into a static image. This collection demonstrates my ability to shoot high-action, unpredictable environments while delivering sharp, cinematic event photography.
