Little Kalamazoo Speedway Website Redesign
Client: Little Kalamazoo Speedway
My Role: Lead Graphic Designer
Designing for the motorsports industry requires capturing speed, energy, and a clear information hierarchy. The President of Little Kalamazoo Speedway requested an updated, cleaner, and more user-friendly website to elevate their digital presence to the modern standard of neighboring tracks. As the Lead Graphic Designer, I focused on modernizing their layout while balancing a high-octane aesthetic with high usability. Per the client’s request, I brightened the overall design by incorporating more white space based on their logo’s color palette. A major focus of this build was organizing complex track data into an intuitive user experience. I structured the homepage to drive immediate action and prioritize user needs, prominently featuring the next three to four upcoming events, a clear Getting Started section for new racers, and a dedicated breakdown of their next Friday and Saturday night races. Beyond the homepage layout, I conceptualized custom databases to manage their Racer profiles and historical track results. By integrating automated list-view schedules that automatically hide past events and a scrolling sponsor reel in the footer, the final design operates as a sleek, fully functional hub for both drivers and local racing fans.
