Aurora Borealis Astrophotography

Capturing the ethereal beauty of the Northern Lights requires immense patience, precision, and a deep understanding of low-light astrophotography. This series documents a vibrant, rare auroral display dancing over the South Haven, Michigan lighthouse pier on May 12, 2024. Utilizing precise long-exposure techniques and meticulous post-processing to maintain stellar sharpness while eliminating night-sky noise, these images showcase the vivid, dynamic spectrum of greens, purples, and pinks that briefly illuminated the horizon. This collection stands as a testament to my technical proficiency in environmental photography and my dedication to chasing compelling, real-world visual narratives under challenging conditions.
